Woocommerce Category Pages

Hi,

have the woocommerce category pages been heavily customized?

Whatever setting I change for the Woocommerce category pages, e.g.:
show products
show categories
show both

The changes don’t make any difference, it is as if only the product loop is showing.

We have too many products to use with only product filters. I need proper category/sub-categories too.

Any idea how to get the proper category loops back?
